Earlier this week I discovered gradient maps in Photoshop! I've been playing around with them and to me they are like easy Instagram-wanna be filters.
The light source in the image was from the top left; I changed the angle to 150 degrees to align the direction with the light source. Below I'm using the stock "copper" gradient at 15% opacity; I feel it gives the look of sunrays.
Next, I try the stock "violet, orange" gradient at 15% opacity
I want to lessen the amount of orange (or in other words, more violet) so I shift the color stop tab of the blue over to the right
The default violet is a bit cold, I want to warm it up a bit so I select a light violet color instead.
Notice the difference?
